My research as an environmental epidemiologist has focused on the identification of the determinants of, and disparities in, breast cancer. In my research on environmental chemical exposures, I have focused on endocrine disrupting chemicals given that they are environmentally and biologically persistent, are ubiquitous, and have a wide range of health effects. The goal of my research has been to inform risk reduction strategies in order to reduce the national and international burden of breast cancer – the most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death among women.
